ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICAN
A USA Water Polo Academic All-American is a student-athlete who has earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher for the 2022-2023 academic school year, completed 9th-10th-11th-or 12th grade in the spring of 2023, and is a current GOLD member athlete through USA Water Polo.

ODP NATIONAL TOURNAMENT
CONGRATULATIONS to our club athletes who competed at the ODP National Tournament this past month representing their North East Zone National Team!
If you're interested in participating in USA Water Polo's Olympic Development Program, ask your coach about clinics and camps available though the North East Zone starting in the fall of 2023.

Welcome New Head Coach - Adam Foley
New Head Coach Adam Foley starts this week!
Coach Adam has joined us from California where he has been coaching at the University of the Pacific in Stockton. He has over 12 yeras of collegiate and international experience coahcing and organizing water polo, including Bucknell University, Johns Hopkins University, and George Washington University. He has a passion for providing positional instruction, athlete development, and mentoring coaches.

Thanks Coach Cole
Coach Cole led the 16U Boys this past weekend in his last coaching appearance for the team!
Thank you for all you have given the team these past three years, both on the pool deck and beyond as we navigated COVID, pool closures, changes in leadership, and the most challenging of all obstacles -- teenagers. You've been a constant inspiration to the athletes and a true professional. We wish you luck in your next chapter!

SOUTH FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT 17-19 FEB 2023
NAVY AC sent three teams to Coral Springs, FL for the 20th Annual South Florida International Tournament
18U Girls Team finished in 2nd Place!
18U Boys Team and 16U Boys Team finished strong with many fantastic games!
Congratulations to all of our athletes on a successful travel weekend.




JANUARY 2023

ODP Super Regional Tournament
Congratulations to our TEN athletes who were selected to represent the North East Zone at USA Water Polo's ODP Super Regional Tournament held in Dallas, TX on January 13-15.
We had athletes represented in all three age divisions (Development - Cadet - Youth) for both boys and girls!

Greece Summer Training Trip
Navy AC is planning to travel to Greece this summer for a 2 week training trip! We are in the planning stages right now so stay tuned for more information.
Tentative Dates: 11-24 June
Tentative Locations: Athens - Crete - Santorini - Milos - Athens

NAVY AC Board Meetings
Dates for our monthly board meetings are published in August at the beginning of our season.
At our four General Membership Meetings, general members can make motions and vote.
At our six Board Meetings, general members are welcome to attend and ask questions, but are not allowed to make motions or vote.

Junior Olympics 2023 Planning
Mark your calendars and check Team Snap for these important JO planning dates!
It takes a few months to get organized for our biggest tournament of the year. We plan to take as many as SIX teams to this national event and we'll need athletes as well as parents to commit within the next few weeks.

Navy AC Seniors are committing to colleges this fall! As our seniors finalize their decisions for next year, we will be sharing their choices here - whether it's playing Division 1 Water Polo - Division II - Division III - College Club Polo - or choosing a new path - we are here to celebrate this next new chapter unfolding!

USAWP Academic All-Americans!
Congratulations to our TEN high school athletes recognized by USA Water Polo for their hard work both in the classroom and in the pool. Student-athletes needed to earn a 3.50 GPA on a scale of 4.0 to qualify. Outstanding Academic All-Americans needed to earn a 4.0 GPA on a scale of 4.0 to qualify.

Battle of the Beltways Tournament!
Looking forward to hosting our largest tournament since before COVID.
We will be using both Scott and Lejeune Pools and have an army of parent volunteers ready to score and time this weekend. If you're new to the club, make sure you shadow at one of the tables to learn the ropes.

Navy AC Water Polo is hosting 7 water polo clinics for local summer swim teams and we need our players to help out with demonstrations and drills. We need a handful of players at each clinic.
(Players can receive community service hours)

This is a great way for our team to introduce water polo to the local community and recruit young athletes who might be interested in trying out for our team.

May Day Invite Tournament Information
Navy AC will host a home tournament in Scott Pool 30 April - 1 May!
Our Team Secretary and Volunteer Coordinator will be sending out volunteer sign up sheets for games this weekend. If you are a new family to water polo, please sign up to shadow and learn the ropes. Home tournament are an "all hands on deck" evolution, we need everyone contributing to make sure games run smoothly and efficiently. Thanks for the support everyone!!
All games are tentative and subject to change.

Spring Tournament Schedule
Navy AC will compete in USA Water Polo Tournaments as well as American Water Polo (AWP) Tournaments this spring. Amerian Water Polo hosts a number of local tournaments in the greater Pennsylvania area and we're excited to be within driving distance to great competition. Be on the look out for instructions from our Team Secretary about AWP membership fees for our athletes.
All tournament dates are tentative and subject to change.

Southern Florida International Water Polo Tournament
Navy AC sent three age group teams plus a combined NavyAC/Capitol girls team to compete against teams from across the nation as well as other countries. Our players stepped up to the challenge - played early morning games as well as games late into the night - and came away with an amazing team experience.

GOOD LUCK to our Navy AC athletes competing this weekend in the Olympic Development Program (ODP) Eastern Regional Championship Selection Tournament in Greensboro, NC!
Athletes from this tournament will be selected to represent the North East Zone (NEZ) in an ODP National Championship tournament held in California in March 2022.
